  • I know this isn't a Subaru vehicle video, but Subaru is who I know best and maybe another car guy with a Subaru will stumble upon this comment; Subaru does the same thing with parts. Word to the wise; bearings are from either NTN or Toyo, radiator is from Koyorad, a good OEM parts supplier for general stuff like hoses and pullies is Gates and all accessories like AC compressor or alternator/generator are manufactured by, no foolin', Mitsubishi.

  • U should have done the water pump while you were in there. BMW's are usually cylindrical and sealed with an o-ring and not hard to change. Otherwise it'll be failing soon...

    • Not on the s54

  • That special tool?? It’s a BFS... big f***ing screwdriver 🤣🤣🤣🤣

  • Oil filter housing o ring. 12 dollar part 1k labor

  • The time has come for the whole car market rip of organisation to be buried if not electric will sort them out. Also this old car fiasco is just as bad at ripping off customers.

  • Good luck! I have dealt with several flood cars in the past and every one of them was an endless money pit, mostly of electrical problems that keep popping up as corrosion moves through the system. One day things work, the next day they don’t.

  • Sam, love your videos. Here where I leave we have too many BMW. I always wanted a Stick shift but are none. Sinse I can't afford a new one I would like to buy a used one that I can fix. Any points on what's a good model to buy? Greetings from Hilton Head Island SC.

  • I can't believe you teased us with the wheels.... No wonder step mom says you have an issue with the finish lol

  • Why cut a piece of the bumper when you can take the gas filler door to the paint shop as a sample?

  • Viton is an okay oring for that application, but I would have gone with a Silicone (Red/Orange) oring. Would stand up better against the static pressure and has similar heat resisting properties. The original was probably a black nitrile/buda oring, which understandably disintegrated like it did.

  • almost all tappet covers take rtv at the half moons mate.

  • The fan clutch is a mechanical part 😉

  • Reset your sunroof !! it's out of calibration and not sitting flush with the roof when closed.

  • Good content. New Channel found. Subscribed

  • I totally dig watching these videos. I buy ford though because the maintenance is less and the breakdowns are also less. Well, and the parts less as well. When I say less, I mean cost less and and hardly needs to be worked on. Again I love German cars and the glamour. I am hooked on these vids.

  • Talking part is much more than action part, please try to reduce that. Thanks.

  • 1 million O Rings = 180 pcs.. Me: got it

  • Entertaining videos in my opinion what would make them that much better is if you show a little more into detail on the mechanical repairs you do instead of fast forwarding it

  • So what price did Tavarish quote?

  • I spent about 8 hours replacing those pulleys and belts. I didn’t think I’d need the fan clutch tool. Big mistake. I also cracked the thermostat housing so be careful!!!

  • Dude, you are amazing. How do you do so much work and still shoot, edit and post vids?? Keep it up loving your channel.

  • 6:10 ChrisFix would be proud of you🤣

  • you need the $20K to pay for your gas and insurance for the first year

  • Funny thing is you didn’t even know the wheels were backwards. All m class come with staggered wheels, please stop driving BMWs you don’t belong Biden boy.

  • The hud in red and change the rear lights the interior in carbon and the car gone to be perfect

  • @Samcrac what was the name of the shop? Great example of how the little things can be taken care of but all too often folks abandon it and buy new car problems.

  • You also could have just taken off the gas door..... instead of cutting out your bumper.

  • This is why I don’t watch Samcrac. Now I may need to find a BMW M3 🤦‍♂️ Love your channel man. What type of shades are those? Rayban?

  • Why cut the bumper when you can take in the gas lid

  • Sam can you do a video showing us what you do for a living?

  • Buy like 5 of them, sit and wait and watch

  • That shop is really honest!

  • I got into an accident in my E36 M3. Went to get a quote. 9k. Towed it back home, spent about 800 in parts and have been driving it since. Never will go to a shop again. Never never. Like never never never.

  • Mechanics need to eat too

  • is there a soundproof pad missing under the bonnet (hood)?

  • The honest mechanic said "That's an endless money pit! Get a Toyota Celica!

  • U wanna sell it?

  • why dont you just get youre own lift to work on youre cars

  • Good luck on selling a flood damage BMW with 140000 miles for a profit

  • *Why don't you get yourself a set of Quick Jacks? they are made by Bendpak and you can get them with either the 120V electrical plug for the pump OR a 12v pump that you can connect to ANY Battery or even A battery charger to operate. I don't have a shop so everything i have done normally involves a floor jack and having to re-position it like you keep doing . The quick jacks give you an easily mobile mini lift that will lift pretty much anything at least 3 feet off of the ground. i purchased the 7000 pound ones with the SUV attachments and so far there is nothing they won't lift . they are rated at 7000 pounds but i have easily lifted 12,000 pound trucks with them and not had ANY problems doing so with no damage to the lift. just seems like that would make your life so much easier if you had a set*

  • I hate when his videos end

  • yo why am a seeing paddocks with cars randomly parked spaced out?

  • While you are in there, adjust the valve lash. The S54 uses mechanical, not hydraulic, lifters and the should be set every 30k miles or so.

  • Watching from Germany 🇩🇪

  • @samcrac thanks for sharing all the cheap hacks, I like that you share your knowledge instead of hoarding it.

    • That same hacks that was gained from the internet.... this car is what 14 years old...... info for days on the internet...

  • So this is what Tony Romo does now.

  • Rosso Corsa isn't a set color. Ferrari calls whatever red they are using Rosso Corsa.

  • Man that red paint is fugly

  • the ferrari must be wrap in the finest pizza leather

  • Need to remove the quotes from the title and name the shop that didn't try to screw you.

  • Free diagnosis just to replace it yourself. My guy😎

  • he butcherd that rs7 RICH BUILD gonna spend all hes saving on it 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🚑🚑 keep up the good work sam !!!!

  • As my first car, a e46 325ci, that was a manual. The e46 M3 has always been and always will be my dream car. No Ferrari or Lamborghini could ever make me as happy as the beast of a e46 M3. Hopefully one day I can get one!

  • Ferrari paint mixes are secret

  • BreakingMansWallet😏 Get ready for future bills and yes I’ve had em

  • You are wrong. The most iconic BMW color is Imola red. Case closed.

  • Hey I’ll buy it from you message me back

  • You’re using “it didn’t cost me anything to fix” very loosely. A fallacious statement. You literally bought and installed a new alternator and other miscellaneous parts, before diagnosing the cable as the issues. Good find on the car though!

    • Not to mention giving away his time for "free". Also not factoring in rent, insurance and all the other things that go along with running a proper business.

  • Man, the first time I saw this car -- "flood-damaged BMW" -- I thought that it would be a total nightmare! I'm actually quite impressed with how this thing is turning out. Really great vids on this car -- enjoying the heck out of this series!

  • Subscribed. Sub back?

  • Geez dude, what was that FF montage music? I felt like I was on hold with my dentist's office!

  • I’m loving this m3😍😍😍😍🥵

  • Watching hoovies makes me want to run away from BMW. Watching samcracc makes me wanna go get myself a BMW 😄

  • Wish i could find an honest mechanic

    • No you dont... you cant afford one...

  • I loved watching you at first but you are dragging your videos way to much and a lot of wasteful information. Also the amount your buying these cars for is BS. I have been looking and somehow you getting a discount. Doesn't make sense.

  • "Rowsow Corsa"

  • You're a cheap broke low life.. we hear you. "Honest Mechanics" don't have to pay for insurance, don't have to worry about customers that are never satisfied.. they should work for free. What is the proper hourly wage a excellent mechanic should charge? $90 per hour? $190? How many hours does the book say these repair require? Quotes are all done flat rate.. if it takes you longer.. same pay.. quicker lucky day

  • In line 6 gives more room in the engine bay.

  • The previous owner paid a lot for the paint job but no maintenance! I am a preventative maintenance guy! It will cost more in the end if you do not keep up with repairs. Drive a Honda if you do not want expensive repairs/maintenance!

  • Surprised not an electric fan vs mechanical clutch fan! Ditch the clutch switch to electric!

  • guys i have never seen a plastic valve cover for the v8s n62-63 and the n52-54 ever break. unless physically acted upon i.e leaving a screw somewhat in thinking you have every one out and it crack because you try to pry, other than that there valve covers are pretty sturdy as long as of course you're not running more then factory boost settings and etc...

    • Do you work for a dealer? Or a shop??? No v8 uses a plastic cove like you said.... however n52k n51. N54. N55. All have plastic covers. And they all crack all the time and leak not only oil out. But air in..... oh ya the 4 cyl n20 and n26 also crack..... so want to try again.

  • wtf is this, Samcrac fixing oil leaks rather than shoving "gasket refresh" into the engine, has hell frozen over... lol

  • Sam's swinging wrenches again. DIY returns.

  • In the title Sam wrote he ''brought'' the flood damaged car, but surely he took the car then brought it home.....he must have missed the day english was taught.....

  • Anyone who talks shit about the dealership is a cheap loser.

  • How anyone can stand you is beyond me

  • You should call the color faux-so corsa.

  • 9:40 that e60😍

  • Lmao you’re talking about Rosso Corsa like it’s not just a solid red. Also why did you cut a piece of the bumper off? You could have just popped out a sensor cover...

  • No wonder this M3 is the cheapest, it is basically done.

  • Even if you win the Farrari, you would never be able to afford the service. Most likely the insurance either you would have to sell it to pay the income tax you would owe by winning the Farrari.

  • This is the type of video I like! Lots of progress on a great project. Keep it up up Sam!

    • This is a tv show type 'progress' where no one learns anything. What is the point of watching time lapse repairs?

  • Putting honest mechanic in quotation marks is very leading and dishonest of you! You should explain to people that the majority of that bill is labor! The labor time was used in the quote is based on industry standard in proper repairs according to manufacturer and ASE standards!!! Im an ASE certified Technician, service writer/manager in training of a reputable shop! & that quote on that BMW was very fair! EVERY SINGLE SKILLED TRADE LABOR JOB WILL BE SIGNIFICANTLY CHEAPER WHEN DIY!!! These people are running a business to make money, no charity!

  • All of that oil on the fan clutch could be leaking fluid they do leak ..it’s bad replace it

  • It will NEVER be a HIGH DOLLAR car as you suggest since it was a flood car!

  • Do the rod bearings which are actually a problem then talk about how simple they are 😂😂

    • Shouldn't need to bmw recalled them 3 times on that model....

  • Nissens is waaaaaay less expensive than OEM BMW. For my e60 535i I spent 110 dollars vs over 800. It's nuts and it is the same exact thing. I love FCP Euro too.... and Summit Racing. Summit is sometimes 50 to 100 bucks less expensive on the bigger parts.

  • Why doesn't Sam use Rockauto?

  • I got 5k for it

  • Bmw sucks i used to love them now i hate them

  • the lusso is fucking hideous

  • my dream car

  • Anyone have some insight? I found a clean 2003 E46 M3 for $500 has a stage 2 inspection but the SMG pump failed in the transmission. Would you recommend getting into this project?

    • Annie thank you for your honest reply. I currently daily a 01 V6 Camry and have put about 4k in parts. I would rather see money like that go into a car I enjoy more and appreciate. We will see if I pull the trigger

    • Read about it yourself and watch videos about it. Only you will know if you are capable of doing this repair job. And expect one repair after another with these BMW's. That seems to be the rule and not the exception. And it is not a good idea to spend more money on a car than it is worth. The resale value on many BMW's are low for a reason. (nugadgets dot com /customcontent/SmgDiyMain.html)

  • That's not _Rosso Corsa._ That's _Whore Red._ 1:24 that moment when you need to take your girlfriend's mom to the grocery store.

  • change your fan to an electrical fan, much better

  • Great job.

  • i was waiting for that flathead to fall on his head during the time lapse LOL

  • my e46 320d bill was 3000$ and it was able to run.

  • Labor costs 1,500 and parts cost 500, still a scam imo

    • What do you do for a living.... it a scam imo......

  • M539 Restorationd-Check his channel for BMW advices, hes specialised in BMWs restorations !!
