I bought the S85 based BMW M5 with the terrible V10 Engine and SMG Transmission with 160,000 miles. The auction listed it with NO Mechanical damage. Upon first startup I heard an interesting noise, which I would definitely consider some sort of mechanical damage so I took it to Eurocharged Orlando to get it diagnosed. Here's what they said...

  • Might want to see if theres water in the fuel tank

  • Man, stick to the topic / title.

  • Cmon Sam! You know you don’t use the Carly crap lol. Those are garbage

  • If you buy the car in a rubbish dump, what do you expect?

  • Dude is bmw god.

  • German cars are over engineered junk made out of cheap parts which are themselves made out of reconstituted sphagetti.

  • Have you heard about the parable of the man who spent every penny he made and even went into severe crippling debt buying and keeping up with the maintenance of his e60 m5? Yes he worked 70 hours weeks in a hot factory breaking down his body day by day like a whip with pounding sounds of forklift beeps repetitively embedded into his head. All to keep up paying for the car at the end of the week he had nothing. Even had to spend 20$ a week on food because that’s all he could afford food also never bought a house couldn’t afford that had to sleep in the m5. What a life he lived. I could tell you even more

  • 2:59 those are good xD i buy those

  • "These are normal issues." BMW is junk. 2009 Silverado with 150k hard miles towing equipment and only issues have been an EVAP purge valve ($60) cam valley cover gasket leak ($250).

  • Why do you keep buying high milage cars . Does your step mom make any money on them .

  • LS that b1t()$

  • BMW with no issues? That is an oxymoron

  • They were ahead of there time in the looks department as they still look good today

  • Did the previous own drive the car around 9000rpm daily without changing gears??

  • 21:30 a 335i is not as fast as a v10 M5.

  • 00:35 5.0 liter v10 performance is not impressive? The new Corvette has a much larger 6.2 v8 and still doesn’t make 500 hp.

  • N54 por vida homie!!

  • the M5... sexy garbage... I bet the engine rebuild is close fo $30k....

  • A BMW with rod bearing, oil leaks, and vanos problems, color me surprised.

  • running it without fuel :(

  • Ls swap

  • 5:56 That faint sound of failing rod bearings

  • Why is it that most of these great cars are mainly abused and fu+*^%* in the USA ? I know there’s more out there then in the U.K. but a percentage wise comparison most are fu+*^%^ in the USA. 😎👍🇬🇧

  • You can change the rod bearings right in the car..... it’s from the 10w60 these turds use

  • Rod bearings very common issue

  • That little chime noise brings back bad memories....

  • Why do people buy BMW 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂

  • M5 e60 is the ultimate hardcore driving machine. I have no problems with the car

  • BMW Technical Information System: "Because of their increased power output and torque, M engines have a maximum permissible oil consumption of 1.5 l/1000 km." 🥰

  • Last time I plugged my E61 520d in, 108 logged faults. Plugged my E39 540i touring in, 8 faults logged in the 14 years since it was last plugged in.

  • Sell it to M539 Restorations, he knows his bmws

  • The e60 m5 will blow the doors off an e55 at the track or twisties. I do love the e55 too, but don’t downplay the performance of the M5.

  • Why would you buy anything with that mileage on it?

  • Sort of makes me think twice about the quality of BMW and Mercedes. You don’t get what you pay for. My girlfriend has a beautiful 2009 Mercedes SL 550 with 21k miles she bought last summer. Well wouldn’t you know it the engine mounts are leaking and it has an oil leek. They aren’t worth the money mechanically.

  • LS Swap this then it will the most reliable

  • Ls swap it

  • The EurochargedOrlando logo that comes up at 12:47 is missing the L

  • Surely it'd make more than 4k in parts if stripped? Maybe not worth labour time and hassle tho...

  • He bought it at an manheim auction which means he has a dealers listende

  • High possibility that ur bearing shells need changing otherwise check spark plugs and coil packs, a lot of electronics to power up

  • E60 M5: spend nothing on it! Dump it immediately! I have NEVER seen anyone make money on one!

  • The dreary chord promisingly greet because ethernet inspiringly wrestle a a scary conifer. idiotic, probable security

  • Get a e60 5 series with the same motor that the 135 has

  • When you replace a battery for a bmw you have to program it It could give you random codes

  • When I was younger my dad bought a 2005 BMW M5 and I fell in love with that car and now I want to find another but I can’t find one anywhere

  • 15:07 Ahh the sweetness of hearing an American using metric

  • Carly ha ha ha... autoland scientech Vedis 2 that scanner can exactly tell you what’s is the problem in your car.. but 70 dollars Carly doesn’t get anything done

  • Very, very fragile car but lets face it, they only get so bad because owners don't know what they are getting into when they buy them cheap as used cars. They aren't meant to be used daily and maintained infrequently. I've always liked these cars even though it took many years for the styling to grow on me. Saw one on a rolling road at a BMW show a few years ago and the sound was immense.

  • Recommend you use ista+ and ista-p with any BWW, especially M cars.

  • Put all the new coil packs in

  • Sam: what was the key to keeping your car to 160,000 miles? Steven: Mostly my anus... Me: whaaatttt...❓😳❓😳❓ Steven: Yeah maynance... Me: ahhhh... Maintenance... language barriers are fun

  • Carly asked me to tell u your trunk is open

  • I had a BMW I loved but it was costing me a fortune to keep.

  • My 2006 M5 had a oil pump failure that sends oil to the Vanos, long story short, oil was full of metal and BMW wanted $24,500 to basically rebuild the entire engine. My expensive warranty that I purchased thru the dealer (metrolina auto group) refused to cover the repairs. I could not cover that cost, so metrolina took the car back and found me an E92 M3 with over 100k miles to replace it. In hind sight, that M5 was amazing and so much fun to drive, I regret trading it, and should have found a way to rebuild or replace that engine with a dinan. With an after market exhaust and top speed limiter delete, it was like driving a heavier and more comfortable F1 car. I know this is tmi of my story, but that car could definitely be saved.

  • I sold me brain and brought bitcoin!

  • I dont usually comment on posts, but this one I couldn't not say anything. In 2015 I bought a 2007 m6 for 40k. I bought it at carmax with their warranty. 5 years or 100k miles. There is a third way to expire the warranty. Exceed the value spent on the car. Yes I had $40000 of repairs in 4 years. The last was a used motor and I still had to pay 7000 out of pocket . I traded It in for a m4.

  • That car was great.

  • I would be so mad if a online auction lied

  • Almost brought an M5 until I did some homework 📚 on problems and what to look out for.... after seeing the lists & all the costly parts and maintenance costs I decided to walk away.

  • I used to have a 335D (by the way, if you have one and it's running properly, sell it right now) and it was constantly throwing misfire codes. After a few thousand in repairs over a year or so and a few thousand more coming up (suggested replace all injectors), I cut my losses. Fun to drive but my new rule is only own BMW now with a warranty in place!

  • For a BMW major problem is normal, for a Toyota if have a spark plugs issue it's the end 😅

  • Most of the original engine faults will return after several trips. Just idling for a few minutes is not enough for a lot of the systems to complete diagnostics.

  • You talk alot but you really don't know nothing about mechanics, it's shame for you.

  • The J&J Auto Wrecking video on this one was good.

  • when that mechanic opened the hood of his car, i realyzed how. im in the wrong country, god damn, the best u find here is a Clio """All tuned"", hiting 190 kmh....... FML

  • This is why I went with E55 AMG..... Even tho my heart is still with the m5

  • Oh shit kinda worrd but I think that's my old e60 I still have splash guards if you need.

  • I considered buying one until 2 of my customers bought them and practically lived at the shop and they were very clean well serviced cars, if you go into the purchase knowing that it’s a black hole for money and seriously high maintenance car then carry on. I had one sound like that and it was the vanos oil feed line in the sump starving the units and it spun a shell because the customer decided doing 190 was a good idea sounding like it did

  • The Mechanic is so happy to see the M5 cash cow look at him grinning 13:51

  • Just by a 525i and transfer the interior and exterior to it lmao

  • first off if i saw that list of codes i be like holy shit nope to much of a headache lol and second jesus man get some sleep your eyes look like you haven't slept in days

  • Failed oil pressure line. You can spin a rod bearing quickly with a failed oil line due to lower oil pressure.

  • Owning a BMW has turned me into a car guy

  • Dirty cheap, would buy n repair 10/10.

  • It's a miracle if that M5 could reach 160k miles in the first place. The previous owner was playing russian roulette.

  • Sam, please, tell me the model and brand of your sunglasses, the ones you wear during initial advertisment. Thank you 🙂

  • I have a 2006 BMW 750Li in great condition only 87,000 miles lmk if you’re interested.

  • M5 with no mechanical issues!! Rod knock is mechanical.

  • I call BS on your Carly thing, very generic. Funny, you say it goes straight to BMW's code numbers, yet it showed an M3. High pressure vanos line is why the half throttle...listen, you get what you pay for. Many of these cars were ran hard, abused, then sold with hardly any maintenance done to them..Hell most don't know how to properly warm it up before running it hard...anyway, I have had two of these, still have the second, never a serious issue with either. Promise you, at 50/60 mph on, not much can stay with it

  • Yep, BMW's should be built in Germany...

  • Filming for Part 12 of the Fiero series is done! Give me a week to write the script, narrate, and edit, and I’ll have the video ready for your viewing pleasure. Thanks for holding tight and sticking around 🤙🏻

  • Win! no one ever wins anything! always some catch or BS!

  • I’ve heard tell,..... that you remove the solenoids and clean them with a $3.00 can of brakeklean and reinstall them and your code will go away ....

  • This video, sponsored by Carly...

  • Love this type of stuff...wish I was lucky to do this! Must be nice to get hellava deals..

  • hello,your code for Carly don't work...?

  • Omg 3350€ for this beast? In Germany u cant find one under 15.000€ With damage

  • They had stopped claiming:”The ultimate driving machine.”

    • When u actually have a nice example e60 m5, they really are the ultimate driving machine. These m5s are the best kept secret 😉🤫

  • Use me as the “that cars definitely not a 2002” “oh wait” button.

  • The only reason why I wouldn't buy a Beamer is because I would have to travel 8 hours to get it serviced. No mechanic shop in my area is equipped to handle those cars.

  • hello please what auctions do you buy your cars for please ?

  • automatic transmission :D

  • Just sold me on that Carly phone reader, cheap, effective, helpful and so easy for people to use

  • That’s not how that gas container works

  • M5 just had to fix rod bearing and throttle acutator not expensive to fix... Really..

  • Hmmmm E55 was boring, M5 was fun, you need to live thru 2000s to know what M5 was about. E55 was quite girly during that era, the m5 was high tech with auto manual that throws you around, had a very futuristic interior of the time.

  • Sam build a amg Mercedes on the channel if you come across a good one

  • When it sounds like a red block Volvo (which is supposed to sound like a tractor) you know it's bad...

  • The key is to just baby the car.. don't race it, don't Rev it, don't stress it, don't stand on it or wind it out.. you buy a nice car just drive it, want to have fun and race something? Go rent one for a weekend 2 or 3 times a year and get it out of your system. But baby yours..

  • If You have to take the engine out to get behind it, i can imagine why it is so expensive to repair.
