I Bought the very rare Audi TT based off the R32 Golf at the junk auction sale. Someone drove this thing until it started falling apart in the engine bay. Hopefully we caught it quick enough and bought it cheap enough to save it and make it better than it was from the factory!

  • blah blah blah, sounds like a grifter.

  • That single exhaust was only on the first year turbo tt

    • @John PM no the 180 hp with Quattro had a single exhaust as well until 2001 when it changed to dual.

    • Only the 180 bhp version, non quattro....

  • To sort the handling on the old mk1 tt's fit the rear springs, and anti-roll bar (sway bar for US readers) from a same generation Audi S3. At least this works with European spec cars. Not sure if the S3 was sold in the US. Or fit the Suspension from the TT Sport, again not certain if they were sold in the US, 1.8t raised to 240Bhp removed rear seats, same bodykit as the V6, Black roof (two tone) and special wheels 1.8t mods really well as long as it's the BAM engine with the upgraded turbo they'll remap to about 280-300bhp on stock internals.

  • The Audi TT is the ideal motorcar for older men with prostate problems. Driving it also reminds them how often they have to.....TT.

  • It's kinda like saying go get a 2006-2007 Impreza wrx/sti that hasn't blown the head gasket for less then $13,000

  • R32 TTs cost at least 25000€ here in europe! What an offer!

  • Those old Audi's are by far the worst looking once, ESPECIALLY the TT LMAO

  • TT = Tourist Trophy in honour of the Isle of Man TT races

  • These 3.2 audis are not rare in the UK Samcrac

  • What year is it?

  • I notice you often buy European cars. Here in the UK we dont have many US built cars and the reputation has generally been a negative one. They're not known for being well built and the handling often poor. Tesla being the main exction over here. Are there any models you would recommend that are available here?

  • Im struggling to buy a decent car at the moment due to just coming back from a one year ban and my options are very much limited due to insurance costs. It always looked great as it was so different from everything else that was out there for the price bracket. London, uk

  • The later models are a vast improvement and far less of a female hairdressers car as the original was. I would go for a Golf tbf just for the extra room in the back.

  • My dad used to own both a 94 Prelude Si and then a 97 Prelude SH. I thought they were the coolest cars ever. In fact, the 97 prelude took my VTEC virginity. I'll never forget. The first time in the car by myself. Got out of the neighborhood onto the country road, and let her rip. Oh it was glorious. I promptly purchased an Integra GSR. (The comment about his dad owning the TT reminded me of my experiences)

  • The TT became boring when some people who had never driven a fast car before, drove them and crashed. Because of that, Audi added weight to the rear, a spoiler and ESP and TC to make them worse "but safer"...

  • You said the first audio was 180 hp. Then said the next gen was only 25 more putting it @ 259 hp what’s up ?

  • U mean u did not know the TT is a girls car? Designed for young girls with money.

  • You are actually pretty lucky that the TT was in the condition that it's in. I bought mine 2 years ago for $300 and so far I had to practically rebuild the entire thing and it hasn't been driven a single mile under my ownership. But lucky for me the end is near!

  • R170 SLK and first gen Audi TT are perfect examples of how great looking "sportscars" from respected car makers are crippled by their platforms. For Merc I can almost understand why they made the SLK drive dynamically boring (Mercedes being the equivalent of luxury at the time as a brand), but when Audi first released the TT , Audi people claimed that they wanted to honor the NSU TT a small sports car from the '60s and 70s (hence giving the name TT) that performed great on the road and the track. I think it mislead a lot of first owners that bought this car thinking that besides decent straight line performance (at least for the 225) that the car would perform dynamically in the same way a Porsche Boxster of the same era would perform!

  • Audi TT is ugly, all the cars he listed are 10 times better than the TT

  • Wait people actually like the looks of the tt. I've always thought they just looked like a vw Beatle that got stepped on...

  • slap a supercharger on that badboii

  • Interesting to see this in Europe. Nobody wants a Corvette C5 here, the ones available are super cheap. And TT 3.2 is not the most popular model, most people choose 1.8T 225hp which is lighter, cheap to tune AND manual 👍

  • Can really see were the Audi R8 gets some of its design from

  • Let’s get a BMW Z4 Up in here! 2006-2013. I know one gen is much longer and different then the other but it’s a curiosity point.

  • Now all I see is Audi TT's everywhere I go!!!

  • It might be on a R32 platform, but you still have to be seen in the TT.

  • I'm confused by the reference to "TT guys" since guys don't drive TTs. The TT is a chick car. It's an Audi Beetle (Bug).

  • The lcd screen on the VR6 needs replacing.

  • Just what I want in my sports car, "numb steering".

  • Don't forget Sam the Shelby Cobra is in fact the AC Ace, a BRITISH designed sports car with a small block Ford V8. Carroll Shelby actually approached AC cars (of Surrey, England) in 1961 aiming to build a car that would compete with the Corvette! Thus the Cobra was born.... You're welcome!!!

  • Audi TTrash

  • The first gen TT is stunning. No question.

  • Nobody on Earth has ever called a TT sportscar... Until now. Its not a sportscar and never has been, nor ever will be. It was never marketed as one either.

  • Hell yeah! Looking forward to more TT content.

  • I don’t think the TT is a good looking car. I alway thought it was ugly. And why did you air quote mustang gt as a sports car lol

  • 🤔🤔🤔 the cobra is not American. It’s British lol.

  • The rear (big)spoiler and the vents on the front wings, are accessories of the 3.2 liter version of the TT. 1.8 liter "s-line" (even in the 225 hp version) doesn't come with those goodies...

  • Get some new headlight lenses from BimmerJakes. Transform the front end. Don't waste your time polishing the existing ones.

  • Nobody with sense bought a 180.... everyone knew it was shit.... The TT was a revolution in styling it was instantly recognisable and tore a new arsehole in car design .... Flet solid to drive and it handle well. Plus you can;t compare apples with pears Audi made many more of these so no wonder a shagged up version will cost you absolute sod all now....

  • In my area of the country 180 HP models TOP OUT at $2,800 for mint conditioned examples and the 225 HP models in mint condition TOP OUT at $4600. These are super good values, if you find one that hasn’t been ragged. Expect, though, every single one is going to need at a minimum of $1500 to get them up to speed for any model not in mint condition.

  • Seven dollars SOLVES the first gen body roll. Replace the stock front sway bar bushings with the replacement upgrades along with new style hold down. The new style has the bump in the bushing that keeps it in place. The factory ones squish out due to lack of proper placement. There, problem solved. So, stop complaining.

  • lol got a bmw grand coupe 2 ad on this video

  • S-Line isn't the Model description though, it's just a trim level. There are 3.2 quattros without S-Line spec.

  • Not my business but why dyou keep buying these non workin cars? Buying one that actually works and customizing it could be cool

  • HOPEFULLY YOU SEE MY POST AND TAKE IT SERIOUSLY 🤓🤓🤓

  • Hey Sam I’m in Florida as well and would love to work for you and learn more about cars because there is never enough

  • Not a v6 dude

  • Where are all these people who say this is a good looking car? It aint!

  • The S line is sexy AF. Dig the coupe and the color

  • What do you mean rare. Stacking them here in Europe. Noone wants them. Hairdressers car. Mostly girls owners over here. Damn Sam, didnt know you like hairdressers cars :)

  • But where is the rare audi?

  • 👍👍👍👍

  • Another car to add to Sam's field of disappointment parking lot..

  • what junk auction did you buy it at?

  • Probably needs brake bleeding.

  • thats true sam rubbish cars

  • Audi made some amazing cars in the 90’s they just didn’t sell them in the US and the TT 3.2’s are 2 a penny in Europe

  • This is a girls car wtf

  • I swear I just read this video last week lol

  • Now pull the whole drivetrain and suspension and put it under a Golf.

  • why dont you leave your trailer attached to the truck one day your gonna loose a bumper or the ramps will fall off since you just let it tip up and slam down

  • The airbag light is most likely the pink connector under one of the seats

  • Iv had 7 tt,s all models including the qs240 totally disagree with you slating it the quality you get for the money is second to non handling is very good and the 1.8t 20v a excellent engine unlike bmw poor quality

  • Fix It!

  • It is unlikely that this car with it's replacement key is repossessed. Banks do not finance cars this old where they actually have an interest in the resale value. You would be lucky to get finance on a car over 3 years old.

  • Sam, do you live in Lutz?

  • I'd probably still go with an r32 over one of these, either a not great condition mk4 or a decent mk5

  • What finally happened to the Ranch Rover? Another unfinished proyect?

  • We had a 3.2 TT, yes not an amazing drive, but the sound of that engine....miss it

  • I don't know Jack shit about makes an models, i just find this guy very entertaining, an I like his knowledge an his can do attitude.

  • Rock it out 1 million subscribers!!!!

  • 1st gen Audi TT suffered from widely reported stability problems

  • I was really excited to move from an NA miata to a TT to get something with more power, safety etc. Drove a couple and was incredibly disappointed with how bland they were. Ended up getting a boxster and couldn't be happier.

  • Damn Why so negative It’s a nice car man easy

  • Take this down. You're going to ruin the market for me lol

  • I had a 2000 tt turbo and loved the car! It was in perfect condition but had to sell it last year because my wife was pregnant and we had some bills to pay. I miss that car daily.

  • I had to stop 🛑 watching with that horrid music 🎶

  • Video doesn't play for me

  • I owned a mk5 r32 and it was great when everything worked which was basically never. Everyday day was a new issue, I wouldn’t take an old German car for free

  • These cars are easy to mod but very expensive to do so. The 3.2 is a plus as it's also a very capable engine and take and handle modifications very good. People destroke that engine and make great power, especially in quattro.

  • Sam, you gotta get rid of that background music in the first 7 minutes. please!

  • Great idea. Make Audi Great Again. You can put this on red hats.

  • MATTGA? Make Audit TT Great Again? Or were you going full blown MAGA?

  • Lmfao , first gen S2000's were dogs , sloooooooow as fuck

  • As for your soft brake pedal, I'm sure that'll just be air in you master cylinder from a home mechanic putting too much psi though a brake service kit and running out of fluid. I would give it a full bleed cycle using VCDS software and ignore the error codes until you have.. Good luck and I look forward to watching the future updates!

  • Hey Sam I just came from a MKV r32, so your audi sister car is a dead end build. Just do a intake and suspension mod and a chip and it'll be brand new again. Not to much to do after that unless you go all out. Good luck

  • The 3.2 v6 was to heavy for the Audi TT and hampered the handling...wasn’t even a lot quicker than the 225. If anything 225 could easily be mapped to be faster. The best one to drive was the cheapest front wheel dive model. The lost weight of the AWD system made it handle better

  • Hi, take the rear bumper off & be amazed at the massive steel weight.

  • I was thinking of buying an Audi TT but now that I am seeing you complaining... nah

  • Haven't seen your channel in awhile... I wonder what happened to the RS7 you restored? Do you still have it or did you sell it?

  • 90s A4 was dull, TT wasn't much better. It's an uglier and less practical Golf.

  • I bought a 2001 TT Roadster with the 225 HP setup. Loved that car, drove it like crazy, put 70K miles on it from 2001 to 2003. At the time was the first person in my family to buy something that expensive new. Ended up selling it for an A4 Cabriolet because I wasn’t paying to replace the dash again. The Gas gauge in the TT went bonkers and replaced the dash, third time I found the A4 instead. Then they screwed up the order and got a CVT instead of a Q and i took it since they took a bunch off. But the CVT died repeatedly and I dumped Audi for the next ten years.

  • Well you don't know how to have fun with body roll you never experienced real body rolls and because body roll is fun as hell

  • Let me save you some trouble. Pretty much all German cars suck. You're welcome

  • Why you upselling this bullshit car???

  • I had a 2001 TT (225 version). I agree that it was boring in stock form. After spending a ton of $ on mods (engine, exhaust, brakes, suspension wheels, interior, and exterior, I could have bought a Porsche. However, with the changes made, it was an awesome car and was my daily driver for 15 years. It looked and drove better than new until I traded it in. It did have some quality issues. Water pumps failed several times, the convertible top's rear glass fell out. The gauge cluster was replaced under warranty, however, the new one quickly failed too.

  • 3:57 that's because they did put it right on the mk4 chassis 🙃🤦‍♂️

  • Jeremy Clarkson wasn't impressed with the TT. He called it the Audi Titty. 😁

  • Don't compare the TT to a cobra ever again. It doesn't even come close to the cobra
