I enjoy this video alot good stuff man, love it! AND i hate BMW STILL GOOD VIDEO
youtube can suckit. big techs are fascists.
This is all I need to get my car sold, thanks
Tip from my mechanic which worked on my car. When you have the situation of the aluminium and steel seizing with bolts, heat up the area with a blow torch until extremely hot then dump water on it. The heat and sudden contraction form the cold can break the seizure and allow you to remove the bolt.
Tooooo the mooooon baby
Us mechs up here in the rust belt got a kick out of this one! I would offer this solution should you revisit this situation in the future: grind two sides on each of the bolt, put a vise grip on as hard as your hand will take the pain, put a pipe on the end of the vg then apply light pressure back and forth in both directions while another person heats the bolt and whatever it's housed in. And finally apply penetrating oil every so often. Expansion, contraction and flexing over time will free a stuck bolt. You got lucky to have so much bolt to work with. One other thing you can do is drill a tiny pilot hole along side the bolt so you can get penetrating oil directly to the inner threads of the bolts otherwise it really doesn't make it's way in there. I'm sure you put anti seize on the new bolts. Great vid and cause!
Watching Sam lean on that big wrench made me cringe as he let it tilt over....Don't let him near the big boy toys again... Lol...🤔🤔😳😳😳😳😯😯😯🇬🇧
when you have a stuck bolt must heat the bolt and after COOL it down 2- 3 times and knock with the hammer
Extractor out of stock
I can't believe how emotionally invested I was in these studs coming out.
Make it into a pizza hut car and really piss them off!!! LoL 😆😆😆
"That's a good thing" That's my new line lmao
Great stuff. Exactly what made your channel popular Working on large industrial coal fired boilers in my past seized bolts were an everyday event. Can't understand why a workshop doesn't have oxy ace which would have been my choice before rounding the heads off.
Sam....Jesus said in the Gospel to "Sell your Ferrari and buy a lift "
Your source of heat from the propane torch was pitifully inadequate . The welded on nut works so good if you can weld it strongly enough because of the heat that expands the aluminum the steel bolt is screwed into. Aluminum expands at 4 times the rate of steel. usually it takes 3 or 4 welds to put enough heat into the bolt to loosen it. Please dont try to weld in polyester tee shirts and flip flops though! Good job guys !
Had really bad luck with one Chinese tool today, and had good luck with the other Chinese tool. That is what China girl said☺️🤣🤣🤣
Why are you welding🤔 All you need are rivets and glue🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
omg cory freaking chase
13:30 Sam " tell her I said wassup " 👌😂😭😂😭
Is Jobs actually park of the garage, or does he just roam about? The guy is a legend!
E39s are by far the slickest looking bmw ever
If these are aluminium bolts, an induction heat tool will not work...
Shoulda had stepmom just the slide hammer. I’m sure she’s a pro with that motion
If he doesn't take her to Olive Garden, consider me unsub'd.
lol 20 grand ur high asf whats 20 dollars gonna do, even if you do just get one entry you have a one out of a 1500 chance of actually winning the car
Yoiu should have soaked the studs and surrounding area in W40 for a day or so, It would have helped
Looks like you guys bought all the extractors
Great cause Sam, fantastic guys for helping you out on those near impossible jobs.
Great job. I would like to add, you are holding the torch too close when you were heating the bolts.
If I were you I'd buy more of those extractor tools
bor thos are normaly like 200-300 usd
I usually don't geek out over stuff like that, but that Jamaican accent is just sooooo cool.
Dats a good ting😌
17:08 It's nice you're letting Rich Rebuilds do some work on your BMW. It probably makes him feel wanted.
I have seen the pilot bearing out by stuffing bread in the centre.
Could of got the broken bolts that were sticking out with plyers LOL
Where do you get the 20k estimate I can find 5 speeds m sports that sold for 10k 11k but even that seems crazy what are it’s rare options ? No sun roof no wood grain? Is there something else or a comparable?
At the end of the day it’s worth a million for the kids but I was just curious I bought a ticket and will redonate the car so we can do it again for the kids if i win!
Where is your safety gear?
@21:05 "Sloppy shifter action"...that what I have whenever I think about your stepmother. Tell her I said what's up and to let me know the next time she's coming over to England 🇬🇧.
You almost got it when you said the nut looked too nice. You didn't prepare it at all for welding.
Sam, thanks for driving up the value of my car! Now I might actually be able to break even on it despite all the money I've burned on maintenance and repairs!
It’s called leverage it took you long enough figure that out
Rust and wasps Proof God does not exist!
I REALLY hope those are your own personal "Really Expensive Brand" screwdrivers you're pounding on, and not one of the mechanics at the shop. You know, the ones who rely on their tools to make a living?
PB blaster first??
Seen one of these , same year and color with 43k miles selling for 32k
6:43 That is not corrosion my dude, the stud looks healthy AF. They glue it in there, these Volvo engineers are some mad people.
Gareth at FCP is the best!!! So helpful when I'm working on my cars.
Tag me in the raffle for a date with your stepmother....
Jobs reminds me of Benny the cab driver from Total Recall
Is there any chance exhaust censors get offended by welder currents? Or even ECU? Even if not why choose to put clamp to exhaust pipe?
Call Andrew Camarata!! haha watching from Australia
Sam is the only guy that takes on additional car projects when he has a million already. Lol
If I had available funds now, I'd buy raffle tickets. Unfortunately, I'm on a more fixed income and not paid until Wednesday of next week. 🤔 I love my time with my prior bimmers.
Sam NO WAY
And why didn't you soak it with penetrant overnight? and again before trying to twist it??? everything looks bone dry.
BMW lost their DNA after the E39!. The E34 was a better drive, it is way lighter. They 535 E34 was great.
I was right all along, A$$crac is a jerk, listen to his replies to the people giving up their time to help him out on a $hitty car for free
Step mom? 17:03
Amazing work. That tool is a real beast.
Sam - "If only we had a good welder, like someone who knew what they were doing." Shane - "Exactly, I don't know what the f*ck I'm doing." So relatable 😂
Great work and so far you got really lucky with all the broken stuff. Thanks for another great video !!
As always , very very entertaining🤘🤘
How old is Sam?
Love that you're doing all this work on it brotha. Crazy.
So if someone really wants to win the car all that person has to do is to buy is all the raffle tickets.😆
Are kidding me just replacing the detents my advice is to completly teardown the transmission to the empty case and completly rebuild it with new stronger internals
You know you would sell more tickets if your step mom is the one handing the keys over to the winner just saying
Why not arp bolts there reusable and will outlast the car its self
Im guessing the morons at bmw dont know what antiseize lubricant is.
#Samcrac I really appreciate you getting back to your roots; the content you built this channel on. This was really enjoyable. I hope you blow by the $100K goal.
Lol just a tiny amount click bait
This is amature hour at its finest
The induction coil is meant to exchange heat with liquid . . If it you turn it on in open air , it will overheat and shut off. That's by design.
Here in alberta Canada you can pick one of these old 5 series up for 2500 Canadian
Welding in a t-shirt isn't a great idea!!!🤣🤣🤣🤣
I know I'm watching this video after the fact but I'm praying u get that last bolt.. I literally found myself praying for your success. Lol This is going to raise a lot of money, this is a very good thing.
Really great video @Samcrac !! Even greater idea to help the kids with Spinabifida!! Our Lord Jesus bless you for your generosity and caring!!
